Dessert favorites

Chef Alaun has some amazing desserts being featured at Julia’s.  Let’s take a peek.

First off, the Fromage du Jour, paired with a sweet jam and a warm baguette.

This choice is perfectly French and lovely for those that desire something a little different and not overly sweet.

cheese

Cheese types rotate frequently, but rest assured, Chef has amazing taste and a notable creative flair, so you will end your meal on a delicious note.

Next up is our Orange Polenta Cake

Kumquat

This wonderful cake uses poached kumquats and has a side of brown butter ice cream.  Cue the mouth watering my friends.  This one is a must try.

For our chocolate lovers, you can’t go wrong with the Chocolate Pot de Créme.

It is accented with an almond crumble and lavender chantilly.  Perfection.

Dinner favorites

Berkeley Restaurant Week 2017 is coming to a close, but not without us bidding farewell to these stunning favorites from the prix fixe Dinner menu.

As a starter option, are the Mixed Chicories, accented with roquefort cheese, pickled raisins and dijon vinaigrette.  It sure is a beautiful way to start your meal.

A hit for your main course is the Roasted Petrale Sole. Chef Alaun accents it with fennel, potato mousseline and niçoise olive vinaigrette.   It is light enough to be satisfying and the potato mousseline rounds it all out in the best way.

Lastly, a dessert perfectly French.  The Fromage du Jour, my friends, meaning cheese of the day.  It’s Chef’s choice, so it is bound to be delicious and perfectly complemented by the warm baguette.

There are only two more days to get in for the $35 prix fixe Dinner (excluding beverages, tax & gratuity) during Restaurant Week.

Book now to savor some of these truly wonderful offerings.

Cheers!

Lunch favorites

We are in our final days of Berkeley Restaurant Week 2017 and it has been fun (and delicious) couple of days.

As a starter, diners are loving our Cauliflower soup.

Chef Alaun does a warm, comforting soup so well and this one is no exception. With crème fraiche, sourdough croutons and chives, it is not only beautiful, but a wonderfully satisfying starter option.

As a main course choice, diners are enjoying the Croque Monsieur.  If you have not treated yourself to this French version of a ham & cheese sandwich, just do it.

If you are not quite convinced, maybe the gruyere or toasted bread will whet your appetite?

Lastly, a dessert that will certainly leave you swooning – Chocolate Pot de Crème.

It is a bowl of chocolate deliciousness and accented with an almond crumble and lavender chantilly.  You can’t go wrong, my friends.

Our prix fixe Lunch menu is $20 for a plethora of options for the choosing and our prix fixe Dinner menu is $35.  Beverages, tax & gratuity are not included.

Book your reservations soon!  Restaurant Week ends for us on Saturday, 1.28.2017.

Cheers!

Cocktail fun

For our diners that love a great cocktail before Dinner or happen to be looking to celebrate a special moment, we have some great cocktails to share about.

Hello, Mint Julep.

At Julia’s, we love to marry the fresh ingredients that Chef Alaun is using in the restaurant and bring them into our drinks.  The mint is beautiful and in season.

Next up is the Kir Royal.

Ours uses Jean Philippe Brut Sparkling Wine and Creme de Cassis.  Not only is this one pretty, but a nice sparkling wine is guaranteed to make you smile.

Last up is a current favorite of many, a Fresh Margarita.

Ours brings together Herradura Tequila, agave, fresh lime and salt.

Join us for Lounge Hours, Tuesday thru Saturday from 4:30pm – 8pm and treat yourself to one of these cocktails or see many of the offerings we have available.

Fall on the horizon

Happy Fall!

Chef Alaun has some tempting items coming your way for Dinner next week.

fall-vegetables-to-plant

As a starter, we love the sound of Pork Rillettes.  Accented with Kadota figs,  grain mustard, grilled sourdough and a petite musclun salad, our interest is piqued.

As a main course, consider the Socca Niçoise.  With a bounty of vegetables, our mouths are watering.  It consists of a chickpea crepe, roasted eggplant and peppers.

Chef and his Team execute Grilled Chicken flawlessly, so consider ours with white beans, porcini mushrooms, turnips and roasting jus.  It is sure to be comforting and satisfying.

You can get a jump on reservations to enjoy our Fall items starting Tuesday, 9.27.16.

Reservations available on Open Table or by calling 510.280.1547.

Cheers!
