Fall on the horizon

Happy Fall!

Chef Alaun has some tempting items coming your way for Dinner next week.

As a starter, we love the sound of Pork Rillettes.  Accented with Kadota figs,  grain mustard, grilled sourdough and a petite musclun salad, our interest is piqued.

As a main course, consider the Socca Niçoise.  With a bounty of vegetables, our mouths are watering.  It consists of a chickpea crepe, roasted eggplant and peppers.

Chef and his Team execute Grilled Chicken flawlessly, so consider ours with white beans, porcini mushrooms, turnips and roasting jus.  It is sure to be comforting and satisfying.

You can get a jump on reservations to enjoy our Fall items starting Tuesday, 9.27.16.

Reservations available on Open Table or by calling 510.280.1547.

A Year in Review

2015 was a fun year – a new Chef, stunning creations and always something happening in Food & Beverage.

Come and see what our top three posts of 2015 were.

Topping the list in popular posts, we extended a warm welcome to Chef Wolfgang!

Lunch, Dinner and special event menus are scrumptious thanks to his expertise.

Next up, a Terrace Lunch post.

Rounding things out, a look in the Kitchen.

We so enjoyed having you as part of the blogging community in 2015.

Cheers to a bright 2016!

Meet our new Chef!

It has been a busy few weeks, but the time has come to reveal some exciting news!

We have a new Chef behind the delicious cuisine prepared for our diners.

Meet Executive Chef, Wolfgang Weber.

Born in Scheidegg, Germany, Wolfgang worked for several Michelin star restaurants in both Germany,  Switzerland and Swiss Italy before coming to the United States in 2000.

Driven to learn English, his first stop was Pebble Beach where he learned a lot about American culture.  Most recently, Wolfgang was the Executive Chef at Green Hills Country Club.

We are truly proud to welcome Wolfgang to our Team! It is his desire to continue the modern American cuisine many love at Julia’s.

Please come in and treat yourself to some of his amazing creations.

Understanding Julia’s

With a room and building with such a beautiful, rich history, lets peek in and learn a little more about this special place.

The room sure is stunning with its high ceilings and shiny (original) floors…

Did you know that the ceilings are concrete, but designed to look like wood?

Thank you Julia Morgan for your architectural and (sturdy) mastery!

The fireplace sure looks inviting, but rest assured in our dry California atmosphere that we are not starting any roaring fires.

Candles are usually lit to set a warm, engaging space…

Rave reviews tend to come in frequently for the floral arrangements adoring each table and the large one in the center.

Not only does our center table hold flowers, but all the essentials we need to pamper you during your meal – extra plates, silverware and water are ready and waiting.
